There are many possibilities for modal overlays to appear. Here are some modern ways of showing them using CSS transitions and animations.

Server Rules
Deathmatching is killing another player without a valid In Character reason. It is strictly
prohibited on this server. Minor insults or OOC arguments for example are not accepted reasons to
kill and will be considered deathmatching. It is expected of all players to use killing as a last
resort when there is no other solution. Therefore killing will be considered deathmatching even if
you can not justify why you killed a player. Claiming a player rammed you or hit you once or twice
does not justify killing them.The rules of deathmatching are especially strict when it
comes to LEO (Law Enforcement Offcers). e.g. if a
police unit tums their sirens on and orders you to pull
over, you can't just gun them down without knowing
what they're pulling you over for. If you're armed and
they tell you they're going to frisk you and you don't
want to get caught, then you're obviously allowed to do
something about it, but if they're going to issue you with
a ticket you are NOT allowed to kill them.
It is not permitted to duel other players unless it occurs
at a logical location and all passers-by must treat the
duel as an IC gunfight.
This means you are not allowed to duel at main bank,
main Ammu-nation, PD or other such public locations.
Duels may only occur with acceptance from the two
involved players or groups, at locations that are
suitable for such actions.
Suitable locations are back alleys, inside closed or
private properties, the desert or other locations like the
ones listed.
Revenge-killing is exactly what it sounds like. It is when
a player kills or tries to kill the player that has killed
them during a previous conflict without any IC
justification. This is not considered acceptable behavior
under any circumstances, even if you're killing
someone that deathmatched you. You need a proper
reason to kill someone, you cannot kill a player only
because you've been killed by him/her.
Returning to the place you died at before the situation
has finished is not allowed.
Law Enforcement Officers are allowed to retum when
10 minutes have passed, but only if there are still cops
there who can lem.
If you are not a Law Enforcement Offcer, this does not
apply to you.
Mafia wars are different, see war rules for exceptions.
Power-gaming means to roleplay in a way that is highly
unrealistic or unfair in any given situation. For example,
when you do roleplay impossible feats such as lifting a
car or resisting arrest against a group of offccrs that
arc restraining you it will considered power-gaming.
Forcing roleplay on other players, i-e- not letting them
respond to your actions, is also considered
power-gaming. Players must at all times allow others to
participate in roleplay.
It is also considered powergaming to force players into
a vehicle outside of a hostile situation or when passing
a cuffed suspect at reasonably high speed. Do not
force players into your vehicle as a cop when there is
no fight going on.
Cops are to taze players on bikes and cars
with no such as NRGs, Dinghys, and
Banditos.
Meta-gaming is mixing and using Out of Character
information for In Character purposes. It is strictly
prohibited and can be punished severely on
the situation. An example of meta-gaming would be to
read the name tag a player you have never met and
calling their character's name IC. This is a minor form
of meta-gaming and easily forgivable, but there will be
harsh punishments in case of mixing and meta-gaming
through PM.
Spawn-killing is when a player kills a player that has
just spawned. This is not very sporting and is thus
prohibited in most circumstances. This rule does not
protect players from IC interaction, however, and thus
they cannot refuse to roleplay in when disadvantaged,
i.e. if a cop or rival faction members approaches,
You're not allowed to rob/kidnap a player at his spawn
place (or outside it) after he has just spawned. Doing
so will result in a punishment.
Insulting other members' family sexual
preference or religious beliefs are strictly forbidden.
Any insults on family members, sexual preference or
religious beliefs will be dealt with, with no regards to
previous events.
We understand that players may enter a heated
discussion where insults may be used and as a result,
we do not deal with reports revolving around a heated
argurnent.
Using any forbidden modifications or third-party
software to give you an unfair advantage over other
players is not allowed under any circumstances.
If you have questions about e.g. CLEO mods or
tcxturcs, speak to an admin to avoid any
misunderstandings.
If our anti-cheat (Launcher) detects cheats in your GTA
folder, you are declared guilty and will be banned for at
least a year. All excuses will be invalid.
It's your responsibility to make sure your GTA folder is
clean before logging in.
Encouraging other players to break server rules is not
allowed under any circumstances. All players must
follow the rules at all time. Any player that encourages
other players to break the rules may be banned or
receive twice the punishment of the rule broken. For
example, if a player convinces another to non-RPly
enter a vehicle while cuffed, both players will be jailed
and the player guilty of breaking rule 9 nine will do
twice the time in admin jail or have will be suspended
twice as long.
Driver drive-by (DDB) is parking a vehicle on top of
another player in order to murder him or make him lose
health/armor.
You are allowed to ram another person ONCE.
However, ramming a person continuously in short
amount of time is NOT allowed and will be considered
as DDB-
You may not use helicopter rotors to kill people.
It is not acceptable under any circumstances to use [kill
or /q to avoid roleplay (this includes arrests) or death.
Forcing a timeout is considered abuse and may be a
bannable offense.
If you pause your game either by pressing escape or
tabbing out of the game to avoid roleplay or
interactions by other players, including being shot, you
may also punished-
Advertising other servers in-game or on Asgard
Forums is strictly prohibited and will result in an
immediate one month IP ban. Repeat offenders will not
bc welcomed back and will bc permanently banned
from this community forever.
If you are unsure in what ways you can discuss other
servers contact a member of staff to clear things up.
NLR to take affect, one thing has have had to

Whether by the hand of another player, the
environment. or, sadly by a glitch (as thc cvcnt is not
specific and all-encompassing) you are bound to follow
the NLR rule.
This means simply that anything leading up to and/or
causing your death must be forgotten. You cannot
retum to the area for the time allotted, nor can you
return to whatever situation was transpiring. Not a
roleplay session, not a firefight, and not even a hostage
situation, cvcn if thc hostages arc moved to a ncw
location. No, unfortunately that situation is over for you
of NLR.
